Ficus Lyrata (Fiddle Leaf Fig)
Ficus Lyrata - the Instagram plant everybody wants, and it's easy to see why! It boasts gorgeous dark green fiddle-leaf shaped leaves, and the bigger it gets, the cooler it looks! Despite having a bit of a drama queen reputation, and yes, you won't be able to put it in the corner and forget about it, it's relatively easy to satisfy this beauty's needs.
Your plant comes in a 21 cm nursery pot and is approx 100-110 cm tall.
Light: Medium-High. Find the brightest spot in your apartment (with no direct light). Yes we know, it looks cool in the corner, so find the bright corner or you'll have to buy another ficus in half a year. It will drop the leaves, if the light is not enough.
It loves humidity, so if you have a bathroom with a window - it might be the best place!
Min light - 400 FC, Good Growth - 800 FC
Water: Medium. Let the top soil dry a knuckle or two before your water. Overwatering causes brown spots on leaves (cells bursting from too much water), so you'll see if it's too much. They will eventually disappear, as the plant matures, but it's better not to do it in the first place.
Pets: As all ficuses, it's toxic to cats and dogs.
