Echinocactus grusonii, popularly known as the golden barrel cactus is a well known species of cactus, and one of the most popular ones with its round shape, well defined ribs and thick yellow needles! It grows pretty fast at the beginning, but then the growth slows, so it takes it around 10 years to reach maturity.

This cactus comes in 14 cm nursery pot and about 21 cm high.

Light: High. As much light as you can give them, as much direct sun as you can give them. They'll be sad if left in a dark corner, but they'll be very-very slow to show it.

Min 400 FC, Good Growth 800 FC.

Water: Low. We don't need to tell you that - if you left your cactus in the office in March, and you're still working from home, it's probably still ok! The soil need to get completely dry, and then a bit dryer, before you need to water your cactus baby. Water plenty though - think of a torrential rain once a year in Sahara - it rains very rarely, but it's like a flood.

Pets: Non-toxic to pets, but definitely painful if they try to bite it or touch it!

Be careful with drafts and doesn't let it near the window, if it's not well insulated!
